Ralf Hübner (musician)
Ralf-Rainer Hübner (* 3. May 1939 in Berlin ) is a German jazz - drummer and - composer , who in glassworks in the Taunus lives.
Live and act
Hübner studied from 1958 to 1962 at the University of the Arts in Berlin; he performed during this time with the SFB combo and musicians such as Benny Bailey and Nathan Davis . From 1961 he played in the Albert Mangelsdorff Quintet and Quartet and developed into one of the most important German jazz drummers alongside Klaus Weiss and Joe Nay . From 1972 he belonged with Bob Degen , Heinz Sauer , Günter Kronberg and Günter Lenz to the group Voices , and from 1976 to the quintet of Manfred Schoof . He also played with Eberhard Weber and Michel Pilz , and later with Fritz Hartschuh . He currently performs frequently with Lauer, the pianist Vladislav Sendecki and Vitold Rek . From 1961 to mid-2010 he was also a member of the Frankfurt Radio Jazz Ensemble .
In 2001 he received the Hessian Jazz Prize .
