Vladyslav Sendecki
Vladislav Sendecki (* 1955 in Gorlice ) is a Polish jazz - pianist (in Polish notation: Władysław Sendecki on some albums he also appears as Vladislav Sendecki ).
Live and act
Sendecki grew up in Krakow . Sendecki first discovered jazz while studying at the Frédéric Chopin Conservatory ( Fryderyk Chopin Music Academy ) and at the Kraków Music Academy . He played in his own groups: Extra Ball (with Jarosław Śmietana ) and Sunship , Zbigniew Namyslowski´s Air Condition, and soon with Leszek Zadlo , Bronisław Suchanek and Janusz Stefański in the Polski Jazz Ensemble , with Zbigniew Namysłowski and also with the Novi Singers . In 1981 he relocated to Switzerland for political reasons and started an international career from there - initially with the Polski Jazz Ensemble . He played with Klaus Doldingers Passport , Billy Cobham , Michael and Randy Brecker , Ray Anderson , Peter Herbolzheimer , Larry Coryell , Janusz Muniak , Didier Lockwood , Michał Urbaniak and Urszula Dudziak , Tomasz Stanko , Victor Bailey , Buster Williams , Lenny White , Joe Henderson , Lew Soloff , Biréli Lagrène and Jaco Pastorius , Charlie Mariano , Arild Anderson , Markus Stockhausen , Al Jarreau , Bobby McFerrin , Till Brönner .
Sendecki has been the pianist of the NDR Bigband since 1996 . He founded the Hamburg Jazz Quartet with Gerry Brown , Detlev Beier and Ingolf Burkhardt . In 2009 he founded the Lyrik & Jazz Ensemble together with his wife, the actress Angélique Duvier , they are on stage with projects such as “A Polish Dream”, “Joseph Freiherr von Eichendorff” and “Chopin”. With Andrzej Olejniczak he founded the "European Blue Note Quartet"; he is also the founder of the Motion Ensemble of Hamburg . He continues to play in the Trio Sendecki, Nils Petter Molvaer, Mino Cinelu , in the Duo Sendecki / Spiegel and in the Duo Sendecki / Ballard.
honors and awards
2010 co-founder of the project "My Polish Heart", 2011 Sendecki received the Hamburg Jazz Prize. In 2015 he received the Gloria Artis Medal, the highest artistic award in the Republic of Poland. In 2017 he became an honorary citizen of Gorlice.
