The Bratislava Symphony Orchestra is a symphony orchestra based in the Slovak capital, Bratislava . The orchestra was founded in 2000 by the Spanish conductor David Hernando Rico and, in addition to classical works, mainly records film music or plays arrangements for pop music titles, commercials or video game music. The large broadcasting hall of the Slovak Radio serves as the recording location .

Cooperation with Böhse Onkelz

The German rock band Böhse Onkelz engaged the Bratislava Symphony Orchestra for their band anniversary to create a classical setting of their tracks. The album was released in December 2015 under the title 35 Years of Böhse Onkelz - Symphonies and Sonatas and entered the album charts at number 5 in Germany. In addition, chart placements were achieved in the Austrian and Swiss charts and the orchestra was nominated for the Echo 2016 in the crossover category. On May 6, 2016, the orchestra performed the pieces live in the Philharmonie Essen .
