35 Years of Böhse Onkelz - Symphonies and Sonatas is a compilation album that the German rock band Böhse Onkelz had recorded by the Bratislava Symphony Orchestra from Slovakia for their 35th anniversary . It was released on December 11, 2015 via the band's own label VIER Ton & Merch GbR and contains 20 classic reinterpretations of songs by the Böhsen Onkelz.

For the album, 20 songs from the studio albums of the Böhse Onkelz were re-recorded as classical versions (without vocals) by the orchestra from Bratislava under the direction of David Hernando Rico. Three songs each were taken from the albums EINS , Wir ham 'still far from enough and bar terrorists , and two tracks each come from Ein böses Märchen… from a thousand dark nights , Viva los Tioz , Es ist Far and Schwarz . In addition, the albums Dopamin , Heilige Lieder and Onkelz wie wir… each contain a title.
Cover design
The album cover is kept in bronze tones and shows a circular emblem in which the words Böhse Onkelz , Symphonie & Sonaten and Bratislava Symphony Orchestra are written. In the center of the circle there are also the lettering 3BO5 and 35 years of Böhse Onkelz as well as two laurel branches . More ornaments can be seen around the circle.

35 Years of Böhse Onkelz - Symphonies and Sonatas entered the German charts at number 5 on December 18, 2015 and stayed in the top 100 for a total of nine weeks. In the German annual charts for 2015, the sound carrier was ranked 91st.

Manuel Berger from laut.de rated the album with two out of a possible five points and described it as a “working, but low-highlight classical translation”. He writes: “The instruments interlock well, the arrangements show no breaks. But they stick too much to the original song structures. And that becomes extremely monotonous in the long run. "
The CDStarts website gave the album four out of a possible ten points. The author Matthias Reichel wrote that the classical versions of the songs were "implemented without fault or blame", but asks whether "Onkelz fans really need and want a classical album". He also criticizes the fact that, unlike Metallica or Deep Purple , the Onkelz did not play an active part in their classic album. Ultimately it is a "low-tension and emotionally unaffected series of well-known melodies".
