Find the Truth is a song by the German hard rock band Böhse Onkelz . The song is the only single from their tenth studio album Hier sind die Onkelz and was released on October 25, 1995.
Content and background
The song is very critical of society and denounces the behavior of many people who often no longer question things and only live in a consumer-oriented or disinterested way. Lyrically there is talk of "greed for money", "lost souls", " corrupt cops " and "schools full of idiots". The listener should wake up and not be afraid to search for the truth himself.
Stephan Weidner commented on the song as follows:
“When I watch the tragedy in our streets, in my case in Frankfurt, I throw up every time. Everyone beats everyone up and everyone looks for blame in the other. There is no longer any trace of real rebellion. Some are adapted, domesticated and totally consumer-oriented, others don't give a shit. [...] I think that we all too often orientate ourselves to the wrong values, let ourselves be blinded by appearances and externalities, and not look for a deeper truth, which of course would mean confronting oneself. The one that we are all most scared of. "

The lyrics of the song were written by Stephan Weidner , the head and bassist of the band. Weidner also took over the production together with the Onkelz guitarist Matthias Röhr .
