Manuel Berger from laut.de rated the album with two out of a possible five points. It only contains the same “topics that the band has chewed through so often over the decades that they could probably release their own best-of album for each of them.” Drummer Peter Schorowsky and guitarist Matthias Röhr were also particularly active musically consistently very "unimaginative." Overall, the songs mostly oscillated "between filler material, 0815 rock and self-copying," whereby "largely creative fallow" prevails. Only the songs cake and beer and memory dances in my head are positively highlighted.
The music magazine Metal Hammer gave the album 6.5 out of a possible seven points. The author Matthias Weckmann describes the songs as “sharp-edged, full of rocking, thoughtful, self-deprecating, brisk, demanding and juvenile happy.” The material is “not as experimental as its predecessor, but it shows off the well-known attitude that has been around since 40 Years ago shook this area. ”The song Wie aus der Sage is seen as particularly positive .
The album received positive reviews from Pressure Magazine . The band will also be “in top musical shape in 2020” and deliver “great riffs, heavy sounds and typical Onkelz lyrics.” Matthias Röhr “with his guitar playing is much more in the foreground” than on his predecessor Memento , and singer Kevin Russell is also "better than ever on an Onkelz album."
