Here are the Onkelz is the tenth studio album by the German rock band Böhse Onkelz . It was released on September 25, 1995 and was the first release on the major label Virgin Records to which the band had switched. The conclusion of the contract between Virgin Records and the Böhsen Onkelz was controversial in the industry and in some cases in the media.

Cover design

The album cover shows four children who are very similar to the four band members. You are standing in front of a wall in a new development area. At the top of the picture are the words Hier sind and Die Onkelz . The photos for the cover and back cover were shot by photographer Carsten Lerp, the artwork within the booklet, which contains various comic drawings, was created by graphic designer Christoph Schnee, who was formerly the singer of the punk band Middle Class Fantasies in Frankfurt / Main.

Background information on individual songs

Here are the Onkelz

The title track of the album is a typical Onkelz song in which the band celebrates itself with irony and pathos.

Find the truth

The song is very critical of society and denounces the behavior of many people who often no longer question things and only live in a consumer-oriented or disinterested way. Lyrically there is talk of “greed for money”, “lost souls”, “corrupt cops” and “schools full of idiots”.

thanks for nothing

The title is a settlement with a large part of the media, who are “blind and ignorant” of the band and only became aware of them through increasing album sales.

You can have everything

You can have everything is written from the point of view of an unhappy lover who is ready to do anything for his love, but ultimately feels that the feelings are not reciprocated.

Much too young

The play deals with the delicate subject of child abuse , in which the child is sexually abused by his own father.

H

H stands for heroin and treats the drug addiction of Onkelz singer Kevin Russell's then overcome .
