Asab is a settlement in the constituency Gibeon in the region Hardap in Namibia . It is about halfway along the B1 national road between Mariental and Keetmanshoop .

The settlement has a gas station, a village shop and a small hotel.

Asab is located directly on the national road, where it crosses the Asab- Rivier dry river of the same name . The Asab Rivier has its source in the Auas Mountains and flows into the Fish River about 30 km south of the village .

Asab is located about 20 km from the village of Mukurob . Until 1988, the Mukurob rock summit, a tourist attraction, was located there.
