Rammstein (according to the CD text ), described by the band as an untitled album , is the seventh studio album by the German band Rammstein . It was released on May 17, 2019, making it their first studio album after a ten-year hiatus.

Promotion and publication

In an interview with Kerrang in January 2019, Richard Kruspe said that there would be five music videos for the album. Teaser clips for the first music video were released in late March. These clips contained images from the video together with the Roman numerals for the date March 28, 2019. On that day, the song Deutschland was released as the album's lead single on popular music streaming platforms and the 9:23 minute long music video was released on YouTube uploaded. In addition, the single was also released as a remix by Kruspe. The band officially revealed the album's release date, May 17, 2019, and also that the album has no title. After just four days, the music video had 19 million views. Germany was physically released on April 12 as both a 7-inch vinyl and CD single, with the remix acting as the b-side. The album's tracklist was posted on the band's YouTube channel between April 16 and April 19, 2019 with excerpts of riffs from each song. The cover of the album was unveiled there on April 18th. A little over a week later, a music video was released for the song radio , which was released on April 26 as a second single. The band presented the album on their Europe Stadium tour .

The album cover is kept minimalist and shows only a match on a completely white background. The booklet is based on the geometric shape of a parallelepiped . On the inside there are dark photos of the six band members, which were taken in a corner of a room. On the back you can see six pairs of shoes in front of a puddle in which the band members are reflected. In addition to the song lyrics, a combination of matches results in the respective number of the track. On the front of the booklet there are also matches which, when put together, form the Rammstein logo.

Information about the songs

Some of the lyrics are based in part on Lindemann's volume of poems In silent nights . For example, Doll is largely based on When Mum Goes to Work Late . What I love is thematically based on the poem of the same name, as well as Far Away , which is based on Midnight . Likewise, the Hallomann chorus was inspired by Sing for me .

Some passages of Sex are based on the poem Summer , which can be found in the poetry book 100 Poems published in 2020 .

According to the booklet, the background vocals in the songs Deutschland and Tattoo are from Meral Al-Mer . In Hello man is Carla Bruhn heard in the background. The choir and string arrangements are by Sven Helbig . The choir is the The Symphony Orchestra of The National Television and Radio Company of Belarus from Minsk .
