Reise, Reise is the fourth studio album by the German band Rammstein . It was published on September 27, 2004 in Germany and shortly thereafter in other European countries.
title
The origin of the title is the old saying Reise, Reise! as a signal to get up for the sailors of a sailing ship , which goes back to the old high German word reisa with the meaning 'departure'. This itself is derived from a Germanic verb with the meaning 'stand up, rise' (cf. English to rise ).
illustration
The limited version of this album shows a triptych with a partially destroyed flight recorder on the front cover. The inner part of the triptych shows a picture of the six band members in a crashed plane . The CD is silver and the imprint resembles a radar . This is a reference to the song Dalai Lama .
The normal version is a jewel case and looks the same from the front as the limited version, inside you can see what is supposed to be the inside of a flight recorder.
The Japanese version was published with a completely different artwork and the same cover that Rammstein used for the follow-up album Rosenrot a year later . The CD contains two exclusive remix versions and the digipak version also contains a bonus DVD with 20 minutes of exclusive material from the live DVD Lichtspielhaus .
