Music video

The music video for Ausländer was shot by Joern Heitmann and premiered on May 28, 2019.

It shows the six band members in costumes from the German colonial era . You paddle on a rubber dinghy marked MS Rammstein to a coast and are greeted by the black natives with a welcome sign. Then the band members are accepted into the community and a cultural exchange takes place. So they go hunting with the locals and try their dishes. In return , they proselytize the Africans and teach them to play tuba, for example . In the evening there is a celebration, with everyone dancing around the fire and the band members gradually disappearing into their huts with local women. At the end of the video, the group says goodbye to the native women, each of whom is now carrying a white child. While five band members paddle the boat back out to sea, Flake has to stay behind and becomes the new chief of the tribe.

Chart successes

Ausländer entered the German charts one week after the album was released on May 24, 2019 due to streaming and downloads . After the single release, the song first reached the top position of the German single midweek charts , but at the end of the chart week had to admit defeat by the song Old Town Road by artist Lil Nas X and took second place. The song also hit the charts in Austria and Switzerland, ranking 29th and 38th respectively.
