The Original Single Collection is the first compilation album by the German metal band Rammstein . This is a box that contains the band's first six officially released singles .

Creation and publication

The box was released on June 19, 1998 in Europe and on March 23, 1999 in America . For all the songs in the box, the music and lyrics come from Rammstein and were produced by Jacob Heller . The exception is the Kraftwerk cover Das Model , which was written by Kraftwerk members Karl Bartos , Ralf Hütter and Emil Schult and produced by Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider-Esleben . The box was limited to around 5,000 copies. In Europe the compilation was released under the label Motor Music , in America the release took place under the label PolyGram . To promote the first release, two singles were released in advance. First, the Kraftwerk cover Das Modell was released. The first Rammstein single Du riechst so gut , which was released with a new music video under the name Du riechst so gut in '98 , was later re-released . Due to the limitation, entry into the charts worldwide was denied.

Content and design

The cover shows a large part of the national coat of arms of the German Democratic Republic . The box also contains a poster and a screen saver as extras for the CDs.
