Polygram
Polygram (own spelling PolyGram ) was a media group that emerged in 1971 from the Deutsche Grammophon Gesellschaft (DGG) and Philips Phonographische Industrie (PPI).
history
As early as 1962, the Philips subsidiary Philips Phonographische Industrie NV (PPI) and the Siemens subsidiary Deutsche Grammophon Gesellschaft (DGG) founded the Gramophon-Philips Group (GPG), with Philips taking over 50 percent of DGG and Siemens in return 50 percent of PPI. The two companies were merged in 1972 to form PolyGram, a holding company with the subsidiaries Polydor International (Hamburg), which largely took over the tasks of the venerable DGG, and Phonogram International in Baarn, the Netherlands, in which the parent companies Philips and Siemens each held 50 percent .

PolyGram labels included: Archiv Produktion , Brunswick Records , Casablanca Records , Decca Records (from 1979), Fontana Records , Karussell , Mercury Records , Polydor , Polystar , Vertigo Records , Verve Records , and since the early 1990s also Polar Music .
