Polar Music International AB was a Swedish record and music publisher founded in early 1963 by Swedish businessmen Stig Anderson and Bengt Bernhag. The company was a subsidiary of the music publisher Sweden Music, also founded by Stig Anderson in 1960 .

Polar Music had many Swedish and international musicians, singers and groups under contract. The best-known and most successful “employees” of Polar were, however, the Swedish pop group ABBA with members Agnetha Fältskog , Björn Ulvaeus , Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad , who were at the same time partners in the group and Polar Music Studios .

After contractual and financial disputes and disputes with the individual ABBA members, Stig Anderson sold Polar Music including almost all license and exploitation rights to the registered ABBA brand in 1990 to the media group Polygram , which in turn was taken over by Universal Music in the late 1990s .
