Gemini was a Swedish pop - duo , consisting of siblings Karin Glenmark (* 1952) and Anders Glenmark (* 1953), which was active in the 1980s.

Band history

Anders and Karin Glenmark were previously active as a band Glenmarks , which also consisted of Uncle Bruno Glenmark and Aunt Ann-Louise Hanson and released four albums in the 1970s. They already appeared as a duo at the Melodifestivalen 1984 , where they took fourth place with the title Kall som is . Herreys , the competition winners, recorded the song a second time.

Gemini released two albums, both of which were produced by former ABBA members Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus , and to which they also wrote numerous titles. The siblings knew Ulvaeus through working together on the Musical Chess , in which Anders and Karin were active as background singers. As a result, they were also part of the first album version of the musical. Gemini were signed to Polar Music , the Stig Anderson record label .

On the first album Gemini from 1985 a revised version of the never released ABBA song Just Like That is included. The track Slowly was a remnant from the recordings of Chess and was given to Frida Lyngstad for her album Shine in 1984 . It was rearranged and mixed for Gemini. The second album Geminism from 1987 contains the title song Mio My Mio for the Astrid Lindgren film of the same name from the same year.

In 2005 Universal Music AB released the greatest hits album Gemini - Det Bästa med Karin och Anders Glenmark , which contains well-known Gemini songs from the 1980s as well as new recordings and remixes. Previously unreleased were the Swedish versions of the tracks Mio My Mio ( Mio min Mio ) and Too Much Love Is Wasted ( Den som sa det var det ).
