Ralf Hütter (born August 20, 1946 in Krefeld ) is a German musician and member of the Kraftwerk group .

Life

In 1968, together with Florian Schneider , Hütter first founded an "Organization for the Realization of Common Musical Concepts", whose test recordings were later published in Great Britain under the group name "Organization" as Tone Float . The Düsseldorf music group Kraftwerk emerged from this formation . At the beginning of his musical career, Hütter was also a member of the bands The Quartermaster, Phantoms, Rambo Zambo Bluesband and Bluesology.

Hütter studied architecture in Aachen . At Kraftwerk he first played the organ and percussion instruments , later the keyboard instruments and all kinds of electronic sound generators. The group developed into one of the most influential and well-known German music formations and achieved world fame. His last name was later changed to "Hutter" on record covers for better international marketing.

Ralf Hütter conducted the press interviews at Kraftwerk.

“We are less interested in ownership than participation. We send out [signals]. Some of these ideas are radio waves. We are the antenna that receives the information, the transmitter that transmits the information back and forth. It's like feedback energy. Otherwise I would just play my music at home and go to sleep. "

Ralf Hütter is responsible for the (human) vocals on almost all studio recordings and on stage.

Ralf Hütter is a committed cyclist and vegetarian.
