Chapel of St. Quirinus

The chapel is first mentioned in writing in the 16th century, but the year its oldest bell was cast indicates an older history. Their patron saint is St. Quirinus . The chapel was expanded significantly in the 18th century and extensively restored between 1972 and 1976. As part of this restoration, the five windows of the chapel, four pointed arch windows and one rectangular window, were renewed. The glass painter Paul Weigmann designed them in 1976 with floral motifs, as well as birds and fish. During the renovation work, important paintings were uncovered and preserved in the choir vault , which probably date from the 16th century. The roof turret houses two bells, in particular the Mutscheid's oldest bell, weighing 79 kg, from 1412, as well as a 45 kg bell from 1933.
