Escher Heide is a district of Bad Münstereifel in the district of Euskirchen , North Rhine-Westphalia and belongs to the village community and formerly independent municipality of Mutscheid .

location

The place is southeast of the old town of Bad Münstereifel. State road 165 runs on the eastern edge of the village. It separates the settlement from the actual village of Esch . The district of Escher Heide also includes the Sasserather Heide , located a little above , which was only reclaimed during the Second World War . An old Roman road runs northwest of the Escher and Sasserather Heide , which is now a popular hiking trail as the Roman Path .

Escher Heide belonged to the independent community of Mutscheid until it was incorporated into Bad Münstereifel on July 1, 1969.
