history

Eicherscheid was first mentioned in 893 in the Prüm Urbar of the Prüm Abbey. Eicherscheid has probably belonged to the Münstereifel since the end of the 12th century. After Münstereifel was elevated to a town around 1300, the residents of Eicherscheid were referred to as "non-residents". Eicherscheid was part of the city even before the city of Bad Münstereifel was rebuilt on July 1, 1969.
