|
Iversheim is a northern district of Bad Münstereifel in the North Rhine-Westphalian district of Euskirchen . The Erft flows through the village . The Catholic Church is dedicated to St. Laurentius .
history
At the northern exit of the village there is a Roman lime distillery from the 3rd century (main article: Roman lime distillery Iversheim ) .
In 865 the place Iversheim is mentioned for the first time as Iuernesheim in a document of Ludwig II . In the Prümer Urbar (list of goods) from 893, Iversheim appears under the name Iuernesheym as a Fronhofsverband owned by the Prüm Abbey . The tithe (church tax) and the church of St. Laurentius were later assigned by the Prüm Abbey to the St. Chrysanthus and Daria monastery in Münstereifel .
No remains of a castle built in the Middle Ages are preserved today (main article: Iversheim Castle ) .
Iversheim was one of the seven honors (tax districts) of the Münstereifel office. The court of Iversheim was drafted in the reform of the courts in the duchies of Jülich and Berg (1554/1555) and referred to the court of Münstereifel. Until the dissolution of the Duchy of Jülich, the lay judges only performed notarial and cadastral tasks.
Since 1816 Iversheim was an independent municipality. On July 1, 1969, the place was incorporated into Bad Münstereifel.
The parish church of St. Laurentius is now integrated into the pastoral care area of Bad Münstereifel.
traffic
Iversheim is a train station on the Erfttalbahn ( Euskirchen - Bad Münstereifel ), on which the RegionalBahn 23 runs for local rail passenger transport . Local rail passenger transport is carried out by DB Regio NRW , which uses DB Class 644 diesel multiple units for the Voreifelbahn in single to double traction for speeds of up to 120 km / h. The tariff of the Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Sieg (VRS) applies to public local rail passenger transport and the NRW tariff applies to all tariff areas .
