action

Titta is sitting with an older lady and older Fred in a bus stop surrounded by fields. She starts talking to Fred and tells him that she wants to emigrate to New Zealand . During the discussion of whether she wants to start the journey by bus, plane or steamer, the two miss the bus and spend the night by an open fire in the bus stop. The next day you can see the reason for their temporary escape from their household. She, in her mid-thirties and an interpreter, lives with her husband Thomas, a saxophone player and two almost grown-up children in an apartment in an old building where chaos reigns. Not only the family is here, but also several friends and musicians who make an amazing noise. Only Titta is ignored.

This everyday stress puts a strain on your soul. Again and again she tells strangers the story of her planned trip to New Zealand. After meeting a strange man in a pub, she decides to change her life and begins a photography training with Mrs. Kapahnke, to whom she also lies, among others, that she has six children. She occupies an apartment in a demolished house and provokes her husband with made-up stories of affairs. One day she meets the amateur photographer Ludwig and hopes to be able to realize her dream of New Zealand with him. But he too disappoints her, because with him she only comes on one climbing tour in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. Titta gets into a crisis again, meets with Fred every now and then and one suicide attempt fails. Pregnant and burdened with everyday worries, she does not give up her dreams.
