Ottokar Lehrner (* 1966 in Mödling , Lower Austria , according to other sources in Vienna ) is an Austrian actor and author .

Life

education

Lehrner grew up in Traiskirchen , south of Vienna. He attended school in Baden near Vienna . At the age of 17 he decided to become an actor. At the age of 18 he moved to Vienna, where he graduated from high school and then did his community service . He received his acting training at the acting school of the Vienna Volkstheater , where he also graduated in acting in 1990. He later attended film acting courses in Munich , Vienna and Los Angeles . In the winter of 1996/97 he studied film directing at the New York Film Academy.

Even during his training he played theater. Lehrner has now worked in over 20 productions in Vienna, Munich, Villach , Klagenfurt , Bregenz and in Berlin (Freie Volksbühne). He also went on tours in German-speaking countries. On stage he played a wide repertoire that included pieces from Shakespeare , the Weimar Classics, the turn of the century and the modern age. He played numerous classic leading roles, a. a. Romeo in Romeo and Juliet , Hamlet and Mortimer in Maria Stuart .

In 1998 he played at the Munich Metropolitan Theater in Bernard-Marie Koltès ' two-person play In the loneliness of the cotton fields . 2002–2003 he toured with the Kempf touring theater, as Wurm in Kabale und Liebe (director: Celino Bleiweiß ). In 2004/2005 he was, at the side of Marion Kracht , at the touring theater Kempf with the comedy Die ist nicht von Yesterday by Garson Kanin (German by Pascal Breuer ) on tour through Germany; he played the male lead, reporter Paul Verrall. The production was then played en suite in 2006/2007 in over 60 performances at the Komödie im Bayerischer Hof . In 2008/2009 he was in a production of the a.gon Tourneetheater with the play Liebeslügen by Michael McKeever on tour through Germany; Lehrner played the role of son Christian Knight, at the side of Diana Körner and Wolfgang Hinze as parents.

In 2010/2011 he was a guest at the Seefestival Wustrau in Brandenburg . In 2010/2011 he played in a production of the a.gon Tourneetheater, alongside Silvia Seidel as painter and cleaning lady Camille, the cook and bon vivant Franck in the play Together you are less alone . He was also on tour in Germany again in 2010/2011 with the a.gon Tourneetheater. In the crime thriller Murderous Fantasies by Bernard Slade , he played the criminal stepson Simon at the side of Peter Fricke , Irene Clarin and Linde Fulda . With this production he also made a guest appearance in January 2011 at the Fritz Rémond Theater in Frankfurt . From 2013 to 2015 and again from February 2016 he was on tour in Germany with the a.gon Tourneetheater with the play King of Hearts based on Alister Beaton .

In addition to his work as a theater actor, he has appeared in several solo projects, some with live music, for example in 2007 with literary programs on De Sade and François Villon . In 2016 he also played a Villon program at Tangoloft Berlin. He also made a name for himself with programs on Mozart , Egon Schiele and Arthur Rimbaud . In his literary evenings and shows he is also active as an author and director.

Movie and TV

Since the mid-1990s, Lehrner has also been working regularly for film and television. He played in motion pictures, numerous television films and was seen in various television series in continuous series roles and in episode roles.

In the television series All my daughters he played in the 4th – 6th grade. Season (1998-2001) the continuous series lead role of Count Beat von Wettenberg. From 1999 to 2001 he had a recurring supporting role in the Austrian television series Schlosshotel Orth , where he played Markus Stelzer, the friend of the receptionist Pepi ( Birgit Linauer ). In the first two episodes of the ARD television series Die Alpenklinik , which were first broadcast in 2006 and 2007, he played the male nurse Paul Hartling.

He had episode roles u. a. in the series Abel Lawyer (1997; as musician and alleged robbery murderer Dave Pollak), Not of Bad Parents (1998), Medicopter 117 - Every Life Matters (1998), The Guard (1999), The Commissioner (1999; as Robert Schneider, the opaque younger brother of the dead), In all friendship (2001; as Jens Novak, whose girlfriend was a victim of sexual abuse in the family), Hello Robbie! (2002; as sailor Jens Weirich and father of a deaf daughter), Forsthaus Falkenau (2003), Coast Guard (2003), Inspector Rex (2004; as carer Lexa), SOKO Donau (2005; as Franz Majewski, the suspicious manager of a delicatessen shop) and SOKO Kitzbühel (2006; as Eric Kastner, the suspect owner of a cleaning company, who used to work as a bodyguard in the red light district).

In January 2017, Lehrner was seen in the 12th film Step into Light on the ZDF television series Frühling, alongside Simone Thomalla and Saskia Vester in a leading role; he played the deaf wood carver Hans Lohmeyer. In the 14th season of the Austrian TV series SOKO Donau (2018), Lehrner took on one of the leading roles in the episode as village police officer Roland Hardlinger, who tries to cover up his daughter's involvement in the crime.

Private

Lehrner is married to the deaf, trained tailor and fashion designer Tabea Lehrner , who runs her own boutique in Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg . His wife also designs the appropriate, time-related costumes for Lehrner's solo evenings.

Out of love for his wife, he learned sign language within two months , which he is fluent in. The children grow up bilingual (word and sign language). The relationship between Tabea and Ottokar Lehrner was u. a. in the ARD television magazine Brisant and in the MDR magazine self-determined! documented on film. The marriage resulted in twins (a boy and a girl) who were born hearing.

In 1997 Lehrner moved from Austria to Germany, where he first lived in Munich. He has lived in Berlin since 1998 , first in Berlin-Kreuzberg and currently in Berlin-Wedding .
