The Alpenklinik is a television series by Das Erste that was produced from 2005 to 2010. The sixth and final episode ran on March 1, 2013.

The successful Berlin heart surgeon Dr. Daniel Guth ends up in the Salzburg area. There he met the attractive Miriam Berghoff and saved with her the indebted private clinic of her deceased father.
There is a self-contained storyline with episode roles in each episode, a story about the problems of the clinic, and one that Daniel Guth is privately involved in. All episodes were filmed in St. Martin near Lofer in the Salzburger Saalachtal.

Novels for the series
On May 2, 2007, Cora Verlag started a series of pocket booklets for the film series. In the first issue, the novels for the first two films were printed under the titles How everything began and A question of the heart . The author of the booklet wrote under the pseudonym Marie Bondari . After the first issue, the series was discontinued.
