Marcus Everding
Marcus Everding (born April 24, 1964 in Munich ) is a German theater director . From 2008 to 2015 he was artistic director of the Carl Orff Festival Andechs .

Marcus Everding was born to August Everding . After graduating from high school and doing basic military service, he studied for four years at the Munich University of Philosophy . He completed his studies with a master's degree. At the same time, Everding began to work as an assistant director at the Bavarian State Theater; from 1988 to 1992 he was permanently employed there.
Early directorial work: 1989 opening of the KUBIZ in Unterhaching. In 1991, Marcus Everding made his debut as a theater director at the Regensburg City Theater . Then he received engagements a. a. at the Stadttheater Bern , the Theater Erfurt and the Nordharzer Städtebundtheater . In 1995 he became senior director for drama at the Landestheater Coburg . From 1997 he worked as a freelance director again: at the Ernst Deutsch Theater Hamburg, at the Südostbayerisches Städtebundtheater and at the ETA-Hoffmann-Theater Bamberg. Everding's first play as an opera director was Handel's Rinaldo in Passau . In summer 2000 he became Leo Kirch's personal advisor at KirchMedia Munich. Since spring 2003 he has been working again at the theater: as a director for opera and drama at the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern, ETA-Hoffmann-Theater in Bamberg and at the Nordharzer Städtebundtheater. In the summer of 2005 he moved to the Landestheater Detmold as acting director . As the successor to Hellmuth Matiasek , he directed the Carl Orff Festival in Andechs Monastery from 2008 to 2015 . Everding has been working again as a freelance director for drama and opera at the Pasinger Fabrik, Dehnberger Hoftheater, Theater Heilbronn since 2015.
Everding was also responsible for the translations and arrangements of various pieces and directed radio plays for Bayerischer Rundfunk .
In 2004 and 2007, Marcus Everding and the “Ayinger-Gmoa-Kultur” association in Kleinhelfendorf performed the “Emmerami Festival” with amateur actors. Since then, these theater plays have taken place every two years, each with a different theme. These always have to do with the past or present of the people in Aying and Helfendorf. There have since been 9 world premieres.
Furthermore, Marcus Everding wrote and directed the Edigna Games 2009 in Puch , on the 900th anniversary of the death of Blessed Edigna . In 2019 a new piece "Ex Voto Edigna - What remained of the tree" premiered as part of the festival that takes place every 10 years. The patron was the President of the Bavarian State Parliament, Ilse Aigner.
In addition to his work as a director, Everding has written numerous plays and libretti. The latter for the conductor and composer Guido Mancusi. Everding has also been represented by Drei Masken Verlag since 2017.
For the production company Bilderfest in Munich, Everding wrote a screenplay on the subject of the composer for the Beethoven year 2020. "Ludwig and the Thief - Schindler's Truth or Beethoven's Genius". This is also available as a play.
