The Segescha ( Russian Сегежа ) is a river in the Republic of Karelia in northwestern Russia .
It forms the outflow of the Segosero , an originally natural lake, which has been converted into a reservoir since 1957. The Segescha flows mainly in a north-northeast direction. It flows through Lake Lindosero and then flows into the Wygosero near the city of the same name, Segescha . The Segescha thus belongs to the river system of the Wyg . It has a length of 57 km. Its catchment area covers 9140 km². The mean discharge at the Popov Porog gauge , 56 km above its mouth, is 74 m³ / s.
