Heike Mundzeck

Heike Mundzeck (* 1938 in Hamburg ) is a German journalist and television author.

Life

According to the father's wishes, Heike Mundzeck should have become a boy. The Catholic, lawyer and police president from Kiel had the synagogue in Friedrichstadt converted into the family home, where Mundzeck was raised with two siblings by their Protestant mother in 1944. As a child, she had the desire to become a horse rider. But at the age of 16 it was clear that she wanted to go into journalism. To this end, she studied law and political science at the universities of Freiburg, Hamburg, Innsbruck and Marburg from 1957 to 1963 and completed this with the state examination . From 1987 to 1990 she trained in body-oriented Gestalt therapy.

From 1963 to 1964 Heike Mundzeck was a trainee at the daily newspaper “ Die Welt ” in Berlin , Essen and Hamburg . She then worked as an editor in the cultural section of the paper. She has been a freelance journalist since 1971 and for many years wrote for daily and weekly newspapers (including " Frankfurter Rundschau ", " Die Zeit ") and for women's magazines (" Brigitte ", " Für Sie ", "Petra") as a television critic and interpreter of Legal reforms are active.

Mundzeck has been a filmmaker (script and direction, then also production) since 1973 and has worked on over 100 television productions ( documentaries , features, reports ) on discrimination and violence in our society for ARD and ZDF , as well as for the Federal Agency for Civic Education and other educational institutions . According to the Association of Women Journalists , Heike Mundzeck provided information and support through her work "Women in a globalized world."

From 1994 to 2003 Heike Mundzeck was a member of the board of the Hamburg Institute for New Media. She is a member of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Dokumentarfilm (AG DOK) and is involved, for example, in the ZONTA Club, a worldwide association of working women in managerial or independent positions.
