Origin and meaning

distribution

At the beginning of the 20th century, the name Brigitte was not very popular in Germany. From the mid-twenties onwards, more and more children were called Brigitte. From the mid-forties to the mid-fifties, the name was among the ten most common female first names, in 1950 even the most frequently given female first name.
