Brigitta Brunner

Brigitta Brunner (born August 10, 1962 in Oberviechtach ) is a German administrative lawyer and former district president of Upper Palatinate and Upper Bavaria . Since May 2018 she has been Ministerial Director in the Bavarian Ministry of Housing, Construction and Transport .

Life

Brunner grew up in Oberviechtach and passed her Abitur at the Ortenburg high school there. From 1981 to 1987 she studied law in Regensburg and passed the second state examination in 1990 . On August 31, 1990 she started in the construction department of the government of Upper Bavaria and from November 12, 1990 worked as a consultant in the State Ministry of the Interior . From May 15, 1995 she was on leave for the CDU / CSU parliamentary group in the German Bundestag for the "Plutonium" investigative committee .

On December 1, 1995, she became head of the environmental protection department in the Munich district office . In 1997 and 1998 she completed a course in administrative management for the higher service and then returned to the Bavarian Ministry of the Interior. In 1999 she moved to the State Chancellery - Berlin branch - and became Head of Division for Federal and European Affairs. From November 18, 2002 she was Vice President, State Returning Officer and Head of the Computer Center South at the Bavarian State Office for Statistics and Data Processing . From 2008 to 2014 she was the regional president of the Upper Palatinate district and from 2014 head of the Department for the Protection of the Constitution and Cybersecurity in the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior.

On July 1, 2016, she became the first woman to be the district president of Upper Bavaria. On April 10, 2018, it was announced that Brunner was moving to the new Ministry of Housing, Construction and Transport as Ministerial Director . Her successor at the head of the government of Upper Bavaria will be Maria Els , previously Head of Human Resources in the Bavarian Ministry of the Interior.

She is an honorary member of the Oberpfälzer Kulturbund .
