New building with main entrance

The neo-baroque group building with tower was built in 1902-04 by Friedrich Adelung and Franz Branschowsky on the remains of a former Paulan monastery (from the 17th / 18th century) with its church. The building at Mariahilfplatz 17 was originally built as a district court, as indicated by a statue of the Justizia on the facade. The remaining parts of the Paulaner monastery buildings, which had previously been rededicated as a military hospital and prison, were included in the new building. The district office is now housed there and in the adjacent new buildings from the 1970s. There is a modern decorative fountain in the green inner courtyard.

Department 4.2.2 operates the fire brigade operations center of the district's volunteer fire brigades in the basement of the new building . Since 2002, fire and rescue service emergency calls from the district have been received by the integrated control center of the Munich city administration ( KVR - Main Department IV).

coat of arms

“Split: in front the Bavarian diamonds, in the back divided by black and gold; on the whole covered by a slanting left silver wave bar.

The wavy bar pointing to the left symbolizes the location of the district on the Isar; the Bavarian diamonds refer to the continuity within the old Bavarian official organization, which led from the old ducal regional courts in the area via the district offices to the current district; Finally, the Munich city colors black and gold stand for the close ties between the district and the regional center of our region.

The county flag shows the color sequence blue-white-blue according to the main colors; the county coat of arms is on her. "
