Wilhelm Weidinger

Wilhelm Weidinger (born November 15, 1939 in Berlin ; † April 13, 2018 in Regensburg ) was a German administrative lawyer and district president of the Upper Palatinate .

Life

Wilhelm Weidinger, who grew up in Heidelberg , studied law in Freiburg , Berlin and Munich and wrote his doctoral thesis at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich in 1967 on competition law in the European Union. After receiving his doctorate, he joined the Bavarian government in 1968. Among other things, he held the office of Vice President of the Government of Upper Bavaria from 1987 to 1994 . Before he became regional president of the Upper Palatinate in 1999 , he headed the department for central affairs in the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior. Wilhelm Weidinger retired in 2004.

Weidinger was president of the Upper Palatinate Cultural Association and chairman of the regional marketing association for many years . In 2012 he was the Bavarian state chairman of the Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgräberfürsorge . In his spare time he also worked as a malacologist . He was married and had a son and a daughter.
