Axel Bartelt

Axel Bartelt (born March 17, 1956 in Ulm ) is a German administrative officer and has been the regional president of the Upper Palatinate since 2014 .

In 1976, Bartelt graduated from the Max Planck Gymnasium in Munich . After studying at the Law Faculty of the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich , he passed the two state exams in 1983 and 1986. He then served as a member of the government of Upper Bavaria (January - April 1987), consultant in the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior (1987-1993; from 1990 as consultant to Interior Minister Edmund Stoiber ), head of the construction department at the Starnberg district office (June 1993), personal Advisor to Prime Minister Edmund Stoiber (1993–2003) and Head of Protocol in the Bavarian State Chancellery (2003–2014). There he last took the rank of ministerial director .

By resolution of the Bavarian State Government on December 18, 2013, Bartelt was appointed Regional President of the Upper Palatinate with effect from February 1, 2014 .

He is an honorary member of the Oberpfälzer Kulturbund .

Private

Bartelt is married and has a daughter. The family lives in Rimsting am Chiemsee.
