Christoph Hillenbrand (born August 31, 1957 in Augsburg ) is a Bavarian civil servant . Since July 2016 he has been President of the Bavarian Supreme Audit Office .

Life

Hillenbrand attended high school near St. Anna (Augsburg) and studied law at the University of Augsburg . In 1983 he passed the Second State Examination in Law and joined the Federal Finance Administration . In 1984 he moved to the Bavarian internal administration. An important stage in his professional career was his work as press officer for the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior from 1987 to 2001, where he was seconded to the Ministry of the Interior of the GDR as press spokesman from May to July 1990 and personal assistant to Prime Minister Max Streibl from 1991 to 1993 . From 2004 he headed the policy department of the Bavarian State Chancellery . In September 2005 he was appointed regional president of the government of Upper Bavaria . On June 14, 2016, Hillenbrand was elected President of the Bavarian Supreme Audit Office by the Bavarian State Parliament on the proposal of the Bavarian State Government with 118 of 159 votes cast . He took up this office on July 1, 2016.

Hillenbrand is married and has two children.
