Tobias J. Lehmann
Tobias J. Lehmann (born January 31, 1966 in Berlin ) is a German actor and theater director .
Life
Tobias J. Lehmann studied from 1987 to 1991 at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin . He also completed classical singing training. Briefly active at the Berliner Ensemble , in the year of his graduation he was honored as best actor of the year with the Berliner Zeitung's Critics' Prize. From 1991 to 1996 Lehmann had an engagement at the Theaterhaus Jena . He then worked as a freelancer for a few years until he was committed to the Leipzig Theater in 1999, to which he was a member until 2008. Since then, Lehmann has been working as a freelancer again and, among other roles, was at the Bad Vilbel Castle Festival in 2012 asGeneral Harras can be seen in Carl Zuckmayer's The Devil's General .
Under directors such as Wolfgang Engel , Heiner Müller , Matthias Brenner and Herbert Olschok , Lehmann played Philipp Klapproth in Wilhelm Jacobys and Carl Laufs ' Schwank Pension Schöller , Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare , Jean in Miss Julie by August Strindberg , Gerardo Escobar in Ariel Dorfman's play Death and the Maiden , Lord Burleigh in Friedrich Schiller's drama Maria Stuart or the title role in Volpone by Ben Jonson .
As a director, Lehmann staged, among other things, the fairy tale The steadfast tin soldier by Hans Christian Andersen as a puppet show at the Meininger Theater , this production has received numerous awards at home and abroad, or the play Dragon's Blood at the Stuttgart State Theater , where he also played Thorvald Helmer in Henrik Ibsen's Nora was on stage. In addition, Lehmann has a lectureship at the Cologne University of Music and Dance .
Lehmann made his first experiences in front of the camera in the early 1990s. At the beginning of the 21st century he is regularly present in film and television, several times in the past he played in the series Polizeiruf 110 .
