Barefoot in Bed is a 14-part family series on GDR television from 1988 to 1990. The first season was directed by Peter Wekwerth and the second season by Horst Zaeske , and the script was written by Ingrid Föhr .
action
The focus of the action is the senior physician Dr. Hans Schön, who lives alone after the death of his wife. In addition to his mother, his household has two sons. The younger son Robert fell ill with rubella and infected his pregnant kindergarten teacher Josi. This is how Dr. Schön and Josi know and love. The two married in the first episode, and further problems arise first with Schön's mother and later (especially in the second season) with regard to family concepts in the younger generation (son Clemens).
background
The title alludes to the family tradition of lying in bed together, which appears again and again in the series through the depiction of bare feet in different combinations.
Although the plot is not tied to a specific location, locations from the location of Neubrandenburg are often shown.
