Sonja Kirchberger (born November 9, 1964 in Vienna ) is an Austrian actress and voice actress .

life and career

Sonja Kirchberger grew up with three brothers. She completed ten years of training in classical dance . As a child, she was a dancer in the ballet of the Vienna State Opera from 1974 to 1978 . Then she worked as a dental technician and photo model .

According to his own account, director Robert van Ackeren discovered Kirchberger in a furniture catalog and immediately gave her a leading role in his adult film Die Venusfalle in 1988 (since the mid-1990s, however, she has been telling in her interviews that it was actually an adult magazine at the time) . In this film, she became known to a large audience as Coco (a beautiful but dangerous seductress). She then took acting, speaking and singing lessons , for which she spent three years in Los Angeles .

In the 1990s, Kirchberger became one of the most famous actresses in German-language film. In Dieter Wedel's multi-part television series The King of St. Pauli, she returned to the beginning of her career with a skilful striptease. She was repeatedly used in erotic roles, but she also proved to be a successful character actress and voice actress . She also had success in international film productions, especially on German stages. Three times she embodied z. B. in the Berlin Cathedral the indulgence in Jedermann (1996, 1997 and 2001). In 2006 she played the role of Isolde (a close confidante of Brünhild ) at the Worms Nibelungen Festival and in 2005 read the vagina monologues in Vienna . In 2015 she played her first comic stage role at the Bad Hersfeld Festival under the direction of Dieter Wedel.

2016 took Kirchberger at the RTL - dance show Let's Dance part. Her dance partner was initially Ilia Russo , who, however, dropped out before the fourth show because of a lumbago . The successor was Vadim Garbuzov . In 2020 she took part in the RTL program Ich bin ein Star - Get me out of here! part and took ninth place.

Kirchberger is the mother of a daughter (* 1985, from a five-year relationship) and a son (* 1998). She was in a relationship with her fellow actor Jochen Nickel from 2001 to 2012. and lived with him for a few years on Mallorca , in the meantime she had her main residence in Berlin . She now runs a restaurant on Mallorca with her Argentinian boyfriend, who is 14 years her junior. Her niece is the soccer player Virginia Kirchberger .
