The 14th season of the German reality show Ich bin ein Star - Get me out of here! started on January 10, 2020 on the private broadcaster RTL and was broadcast until January 25, 2020.

As in the previous year, the current events in the camp were then analyzed and discussed in the talk show I am a star - The hour after .

On February 9, 2020, an additional program with the title “I'm a star - get me out of here! The aftermath ” broadcast.

Sonja Zietlow and Daniel Hartwich have been moderators since 2013 . The paramedic Bob McCarron alias “Dr. Bob “was there again.

Prince Damien was the jungle king and winner of the prize money of 100,000 euros .

¹Actually, Avilova should have left the camp on January 19th. However, since Krause had already left the camp without being voted out, she was able to stay in the camp. The votes from January 19 and 20 were added up, after which Kirchberger received the fewest calls.

Jungle exams

In the jungle tests, the candidates have to earn stars, which are then converted into food rations. According to the moderators in the opening broadcast, Krause was blocked "for all 20 jungle tests". He was the only participant who came to the camp without a previous jungle test.

The food rations, which have been decreasing for years, reached a new low of 37.27% (previously 47.2% in season 13, high value 74.12% in season 4).

Of 169 possible stars, 63 could be converted into food rations, this corresponds to 37.27%.

Treasure hunt

The candidates usually go on a treasure hunt in pairs and solve a task. If successful, they usually bring a treasure chest to the camp. There the chest is opened, in which there is a quiz question with two possible answers. If the candidates answer the task correctly, there is a prize such as sweets or spices; if they answer incorrectly, there is a useless consolation prize such as a garden gnome. More rarely, there is an immediate win after solving the task.

Trivia

• There was no more live animal consumption this season.
• Due to the violent bush fires , there was only one gas-powered campfire until day 9 . After a heavy rain , as a result of which the participants had to be evacuated to the jungle telephone for several hours, the campfire was subsequently released.
• As in previous years, the current events in the camp were then analyzed and discussed in the talk show I am a star - The hour after .
• On February 9, 2020, an additional program with the title “I'm a star - get me out of here! The aftermath ” broadcast.
• To accompany the season, a podcast with the moderators Bella Lesnik and Sebastian Tews was published on the audio platform "Audio Now" , where the events in the camp were discussed with various guests after the current episode.
