Mord in the best company is an Austrian television film by Peter Sämann from the 2007 film year . It is the pilot of the crime series of the same name with Fritz Wepper as the psychiatrist Wendelin Winter in the lead role and Wepper's daughter Sophie , who plays Winter's daughter Alexandra. The main guest roles in this episode are Sonja Kirchberger , Armin Rohde , Nicole Beutler , Michael Greiling , Merab Ninidze , Horst Günter Marx and Oliver Tobias .

Psychiatrist Wendelin Winter travels to Gran Canaria with his daughter Alexandra . There, the German broker Marquardt is hosting a party that also goes to winter. The next day the realtor is dead. Winter finds the dead and assists Commissioner Costa-Cruz in his investigation. Almost everyone has a motive: Car rental company Bilfinger owed the dead man money. Notary Mendez had a dispute with Marquardt. The brother Dieter hated him. And friend Sonja was yelled at by him before. The pretty German doctor Katharina also knows that Marquardt was terminally ill.

Shortly afterwards, Dieter and Mendez are murdered. Winter now visits Sonja on her boat. Winter discovers that Sonja is wearing a blue scarf. In a sudden flashback, Winter recalls finding the fringe of a blue scarf in the dead man's fist. Sonja confesses to the murders of the brothers and the lawyer. She is disappointed to learn that Marquard would have died soon anyway and that she would have inherited everything. Sonja gets angry and wants to kill Wendelin with a knife, but her scarf gets caught in the anchor gear and she strangles herself.
