history
Due to the steady population migration to Scharnstein due to the metal industry, the wish for a church in Scharnstein was expressed as early as 1912. A chaplaincy was founded in 1941, with services temporarily being held in the castle chapel . The parish church was built between 1953 and 1956 according to plans by Hans Foschum . The artistic interior design and the altar come from the sculptor Sepp Moser from Neukirchen near Altmünster . The church was consecrated on October 7, 1956.
In 1958 the weekday chapel, which was also built according to plans by Foschum, was consecrated.
