Katrin Schlösser

Katrin Schlösser (born May 23, 1965 in Leipzig ) is a German film producer and professor at the Art Academy for Media in Cologne .

Life

Schlösser completed her vocational training with a high school diploma (skilled worker in mechanical engineering) in 1982. After a traineeship and recording manager in German television , she studied film and television economics from 1984 to 1988 at the Konrad Wolf University of Film and Television in Babelsberg . She wrote her diploma thesis on the documentary filmmaker Volker Koepp . After completing her studies, she worked as a production manager for German television and in the DEFA documentary film studio , and in 1990 did an internship with producer Renée Gundelach.

In 1990 Katrin Schlösser founded the öFilm production company together with Frank Löprich . Together they produced numerous documentaries and feature films . Since 2007, Katrin Schlösser has been professor for creative film and television production at the Cologne Academy of Media Arts . She has been the elected chairwoman of the DEFA Foundation's Board of Trustees since 2019 .

Schlösser is married to the Austrian writer Lukas Lessing. You live at two places of residence in southern Burgenland and Berlin .
