Die Graslöwen is a children's film series by director Jürgen Weber based on the book of the same name by Wiebke Jaspersen from 2002. It is based on the Graslöwen , a figure that children can identify with, which aims to bring them closer to the topic of environmental protection.

action

The station Mobil-TV has announced a competition for children. It's about a television program for environmental protection. The most promising candidates are the two girls Svenja and Margret on the one hand and the boys' team Simon and Murat on the other. First, both teams fight against each other. But eventually they realize that they can only achieve the goal together. This is how the grass lions are founded.

After the successful television report, the grass lions get their own slot in the television program of reporter Cornelia. However, she is not at all enthusiastic about the children and tries to boycott the work of the grass lions. But the grass lions always emerge victorious and reveal many "messes" such as environmental destruction , factory farming , etc.

background

The grass lions are the result of a competition that the Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt (DBU) initiated together with the children's channel of ARD and ZDF in 2000. We were looking for innovative concepts that convey ecological topics to children of primary school age in the sense of “ Agenda 21 ” as exciting and entertaining television stories. A jury selected the script idea Die Grüne Motten by the Sankt Augustin- based director and author Maryam Yazdtschi from among 170 entries.
