The Hollies is a German children's film from 2003. It is based on the grass lion , a figure that children can identify with, which aims to bring them closer to the topic of environmental protection.

action

An alien ends up in the bedroom of the boy Sven Ladewig. At first Sven thinks he is dreaming when he sees a hologram of his stuffed rabbit. But he soon realizes that this is an alien. The alien is called Holli. He has assumed the form of the first figure he saw when he arrived on earth. To return to his planet he needs energy and also has to find his comrades again.

Holli gets its energy from healthy foods. These must be fresh and come from the region, and they should also be produced and transported with as little energy as possible.

In the course of the plot, Sven meets Lisa, who also has a Holli. Together they learn a lot about healthy eating and find their way to the last holli. So they can leave the earth again.

criticism

"Adventurous (television) fantasy film for children, which serves its largely entertaining story with some educational dangling and draws the greed of adults through the cocoa."
