Viennese actor ring

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Vienna Actor Ring was founded in 1998 by the Austrian theater director, actor, director and author Herbert Lederer on the occasion of his 50th anniversary on the stage. The ring was created by the jewelry artist Ulrike Zehetbauer. It is to be awarded to artists who have already set remarkable performance accents in Vienna's theater life and who can be expected to do so in the future. This future-oriented expectation is expressed in the award guidelines for the award in the stipulation that the award winner should not be older than 50 years. After five years, the ring should be passed on to a successor "at the discretion of the wearer".
