Gillian Cross

Gillian Cross (* 1945 in London ) is a British children's author.

Life

Cross studied English in Oxford and Sussex and lives with her family in Gravesend . In 1990 she won the Carnegie Medal for her book Wolf , in 1992 the Whitbread Award in the children's book category for The Great Elephant Chase and in 2014 the Little Rebels Award .

She also wrote the series The Demon Headmaster , which later became the basis of a BBC television series .
