Hannes Salat (* 1969 in Vienna ; actually Johannes Salat ) is an Austrian production designer .

Life

Hannes Salat attended the Hetzendorf fashion school , which he graduated in 1990. He specialized in leather processing and handbags and initially worked as a designer . He designed the self-made lighting objects and took care of the visual design of various events. Salat came to the film as a career changer. His first film was Kino im Kopf (1996) by director Michael Glawogger , where he worked as assistant production designer. As a result, he was often employed as an outdoor props agent . He received his first assignment as a production designer for the film Heller als der Mond (2000) from director Virgil Widrich . From 1998 to 2006 Salat formed a working group with production designer Alexandra Maringer . In addition to his work as a set designer for numerous cinema and television productions as well as in advertising, Hannes Salat also worked as a set designer , for example for Jeunesse . Since 2014 he has been teaching production design at the Vienna Film Academy .

Salat is a member of the Academy of Austrian Films . The role of the police officer Hannes Salat, played by Erol Nowak , in the TV series Braunschlag is named after him.
