8 × 45 is an Austrian mystery series. The ORF and the Austrian Film Institute launched this project in 2004 as an opportunity for young local filmmakers and produced it in 2005.

History of origin

The specification for this project was “Mystery from Austria” - eerie stories with a reference to Austria. From 155 submissions, the television editorial team selected the best twelve proposals, which were then worked out into scripts. The twelve finalists were reduced to eight and these were then filmed by ORF and shown under the name “8x45” - 8 films of 45 minutes each. Several local stars play in the eerie and sometimes humorous episodes.

The series received a Golden Romy for Best Program Idea 2006 .

action

The return of the newly deceased, a devil's cat, uncanny customs, a dead person in the Danube or even an eerie hotel in the Alps - this is where horror made in Austria should rule.
