Roland Teichmann

Roland Teichmann (born April 19, 1970 in Salzburg ) has headed the Austrian Film Institute since May 2004 . On June 24, 2019, his term of office was extended for the fourth time to June 30, 2024. Roland Teichmann has headed the Austrian Film Institute since May 2004. After initially studying history, political science and ethnology at the University of Innsbruck, he graduated in law from the University of Vienna . At the end of 1999 he joined the Austrian Chamber of Commerce as a lawyer in the field of industry. In 2001 he was appointed managing director of the professional association of the audiovisual and film industry of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce, the legal representation of interests of the entire Austrian film and music industry, followed by the appointment of director of the Austrian Film Institute.

In June 2019, his contract as Director of the Film Institute was extended to June 30, 2024.
