Klemens Hufnagl (* 1979 in St. Pölten ) is an Austrian cameraman .

Life

Klemens Hufnagl first studied MultimediaArt at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences , graduating as a Dipl.-Ing. (FH). He later studied at the Film Academy of the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna . In 2011 he attended a master class with Vilmos Zsigmond in Budapest .

In 2013 he worked for the first time with director Sudabeh Mortezai in his first feature film Macondo , with whom he also made her second feature film Joy (2018). For Macondo he was nominated for the Austrian Film Prize in the Best Camera category. He was again nominated for the Austrian Film Prize for the documentary Brothers of the Night (2016) by Patric Chiha , and the film was also awarded at the Rencontres internationales du documentaire de Montréal (RIDM) film festival in the Best Cinematography in an International Feature category.

Directed by Catalina Molina , he shot the ORF - Landkrimi Drachenjungfrau (2016). In 2018 he worked again with Molina and filmed his second country thriller Das dunkle Paradies as well as the crime scene episode Lucky Alone for ORF . He also directed the zombie film The Dark with Toby Nichols and Karl Markovics together with Justin P. Lange. For Die Einsiedler (2016) by Ronny Trocker he received the Austrian Film Prize 2019 .

Hufnagl is a member of the Association of Austrian Cinematographers (AAC) and the Academy of Austrian Films .
