Gerald Kerkletz
Gerald Kerkletz (born August 24, 1975 in Graz ) is an Austrian cameraman .
Life
Gerald Kerkletz learned graphic design at a technical college for visual design. During his school days he made his first short films on Super 8 and video . He then attended the Vienna Film Academy , initially as an extraordinary listener and, from 1997, regularly studying image technology and camera with Walter Kindler and Christian Berger . During his studies, Kerkletz initially worked as a camera assistant and lighting technician. He later worked as a gaffer , especially for films by the cameramen Thomas Beneschand Martin Gschlacht , who also studied at the film academy. In 2005 he started working as a freelance cameraman specializing in documentaries and feature films. Kerkletz completed his theoretical diploma thesis , in which he dealt with Michael Mann's imagery , in 2007. His diploma film was Stillleben (2011), directed by Sebastian Meise , with which he finished his studies at the Film Academy. He has received several awards for his work as a cameraman.
Kerkletz is a member of the Academy of Austrian Films .
