Karina Ressler
Karina Ressler (born July 2, 1957 in Villach ) is an Austrian film editor .
Life
Karina Ressler graduated from the Vienna Film Academy in 1985, specializing in film editing . Since then she has worked with international directors, including Othmar Schmiderer , Egon Humer , Kurt Palm , Barbara Albert , Ulrich Seidl , Sabine Derflinger , Michael Glawogger , Jessica Hausner and Paulus Manker .
Her first and so far last film as a director, in which she was also a screenwriter and producer, is the short film Roberta's Son from 1992.
In 2009 Karina Ressler was a juror at scriptLAB , a "program to support screenwriters", which is supported by the Screenplay Forum Vienna .
Since December 1, 2014, Ressler has been Professor for Montage at the University of Television and Film in Munich (HFF) .
Ressler is a member of the Austrian Film Editing Association and is on the board.
Awards
In 1997 she received the award for film art from the Federal Chancellery in Austria . In 2010, at the Carinthian cultural award distribution, she received the Carinthian Prize in the cultural field from the cultural and financial councilor Harald Dobernig for special achievements in film art. The award is the second highest cultural award in the state of Carinthia and is endowed with € 6,000. In 2011, the cut to Jessica Hausner's drama Lourdes (2009) won her the Austrian Film Prize . In 2014 she was awarded the Diagonale-Preis Schnitt for October November on the Diagonale . The following year she won the Austrian Film Award in the Best Editing category for Amour Fou . In 2018 she received the Gloria Women's Film Prize, which was awarded for the first time by the FC Gloria association. Most recently she was awarded the Austrian Film Prize for Best Editing, this time for the film Little Joe.
