Stermann & Grissemann
Stermann & Grissemann are a German- Austrian satirist duo, consisting of Dirk Stermann and Christoph Grissemann .
Both began their careers at ORF , in whose radio program they have been running the radio show Salon Helga together since 1991 . In 1997 the first television games followed, which were broadcast as part of the kunst-pieces . From 1998 to 2011 they also ran a satirical broadcast on German Radio Eins . The duo's first book was published in 1998 and since 1999 they can be seen on stage in their own cabaret programs. Since 2007, Stermann and Grissemann have had their own TV show: Willkommen Österreich , which was previously broadcast on ORF Thursday night , but has been broadcast on Tuesday evening, mostly at 10 p.m., on the satirical DIE.NACHT since September 18, 2012 .
History of the duo
Together they made the radio show Salon Helga on ORF since 1991 , first on Ö3 and then on FM4 . Since 1997 they have also broadcast various television programs on ORF such as B. Suite 16 , Blech or Blume (there was previously also a radio version Radio Blume), Kulturkiste or Frau Pepi und die Buben .
They were on German radio - here as Grissemann & Stermann - every Sunday between 1998 and 2011, on Radio Eins ( RBB ) with their programs Show Royale and Blech or Blume (slogan Good woman seeks good man and women's choice on Show Royale ).
After the change of government in Austria in 2000 (participation of the FPÖ in government ), Stermann & Grissemann were suspended from service by the ORF for political reasons. The reason given was that the two of them had said in a satirical interview about Jörg Haider in 1999 : "I think if you wanted to stop Haider at the moment, you would have to shoot him." This quote only caused a sensation after the government was formed, after it was interpreted by the then FPÖ General Secretary Peter Westenthaler in the Austrian National Council as a "call to murder". After the public prosecutor's office closed the investigation initiated by the FPÖ, the suspension of the two satirists was lifted a few months later.
Between 1995 and 2002 the radio station FM4 broadcast its live commentary on the Eurovision Song Contest in parallel to the television broadcast . After ten years of abstinence, they commented on the competition again in 2012 . In addition to being broadcast on FM4, the soundtrack was also broadcast via two-channel sound on ORF Eins .
In 2002 they wanted to represent Austria at the Eurovision Song Contest in Tallinn / Estonia with their song Das schönste Ding der Welt , but narrowly failed in the preliminary round and came second behind Manuel Ortega .
Stermann & Grissemann were awarded the Salzburg Bull in 2002.
Since October 2005 they have also made regular guest appearances in the satirical program Dorfers Donnerstalk broadcast on ORF 1 .
Since 31 May 2007 host the Thursday night telecast Welcome Austria , which was originally intended as a satirical remake of the same ORF live broadcast, but with time to a late-night talk show developed.
Since February 3, 2008, the duo can be seen in its program Imschluss: Neues aus Waldheim on the pay channel Sky Deutschland .
After broadcasting a program in which the media coverage of Haider's death was targeted, there were massive protests on the part of the BZÖ and FPÖ. When the wheel nuts on their manager's car were also loosened, the two of them canceled a planned appearance at the University of Klagenfurt in 2008 .
In December 2012 the duo moderated the first edition of the satirical game show named after them No Chance - The Stermann Against Grissemann Show , which was broadcast on ORF one .
Trivia
At the Austrian Tatort Unvergessen (first broadcast on May 20, 2013) you can see a Carinthian police officer throwing darts at a dartboard on which a photo of Stermann and Grissemann can be seen.
